The short answer
Our websites start from £1,500, fixed and agreed before we begin. For that you get a bespoke site, designed around your business rather than squeezed into a template, with every page written for you in plain English. It’s built on WordPress, you own it outright, and it’s set up properly for Google from the first day.
More pages, or a site that has to do more, costs more. The quote tells you exactly why before you commit to anything.
Why prices vary so wildly
Search around and you’ll see websites offered from £200 and from £20,000, which is bewildering until you know what moves the number. Mostly it’s three things.
Who writes the words. This is the quiet one. Many cheap quotes assume you’ll supply the text, and that assumption is where projects go to die: the site sits half-built for months while a blank page waits on your to-do list. We write every page as part of the job, which costs more than not writing them, and it’s the difference between a website and a stalled project.
Template or bespoke. A £200 website is your business poured into a mould that four hundred other businesses share. It can be fine. It’s rarely memorable, and it’s never quite the right shape. Bespoke means designed around what you do and who you serve.
What the site has to do. Five pages telling people who you are is one job. Bookings, members, shops and integrations are bigger jobs, priced honestly as such.
The cheap options, honestly
The DIY builders that advertise everywhere cost a few pounds a month and your evenings. Some people build something decent on them, and if money is genuinely the constraint, that’s a respectable route. What you’ll wrestle with is everything the adverts skip: writing the words, making it show up on Google, and the rented-not-owned arrangement, where leaving means starting again.
The £200 local offer usually means a template, your text (see above), and a developer who may not answer the phone next year. We take in orphaned websites often enough to say that plainly.
What it costs after launch
Two honest ongoing costs, whoever builds your site. Hosting and domain, modest annual sums. And upkeep: software updates, security, backups. You can do that yourself, or our care plans handle it from £40 a month. What you never pay on a site you own is platform rent.
Getting your number
Tell us what you do and what you want the site to achieve. You’ll get a fixed price with the reasoning attached, and if what you actually need is smaller than you feared, we’ll be the ones to say so.
